Kate Striepe is a strong player on the basketball team, but you won’t hear her bragging about herself.
“I think I could do better, but everyone thinks that,” Striepe said. “I’ve improved from last year though, which is definitely good.”
Striepe is a part of a very strong team, the varsity girls having only lost two games in the season so far.
“Losing just pushed us to work harder, so I think we’ll be fine,” she said.
The girls on the team have to learn to work together to pull out their wins.
Striepe said that before the games people do different things to handle the pressure. Some listen to music, others roam around, but once they get on the court they come together as a team.
For a few seniors on the team, their time on the court together is running out.
“I don’t think that has really hit anyone yet. This is it, this is all or nothing right now, and that’s how we’re playing. Just giving it all,” Striepe said.
After high school, Striepe will more likely continue in track than basketball in her college career, and she is seriously looking into the University of Wyoming.
