• Amber Gettis pursuing singing career

  CMR singer Amber Gettis will perform at the Cascade of Talent Feb. 22.

  Amber Gettis started singing as soon as she could talk.

  “I’ve always been the one jumping around and singing,” Gettis said. She’s trying out for American Idol in June and will be performing in the Cascade of Talent later this month in Great Falls. She went before but she was six days too young. Gettis plans on making a career out of singing.

  “It’s always been my biggest dream,” Gettis said. The kind of music she likes singing is pop, and sometimes country. But she mainly sticks with Christina Aguilera songs. Gettis has written a few songs of her own. Her parents and her sister have helped her out a lot. Their support has helped her get as far as she’s gotten.

  “Music is my way of showing what I got, and in a small way, expressing myself,” Gettis said. She’d really like it if everyone came to the Cascade of Talent Feb. 22  to see everyone.

  “Because there are a lot of people who put themselves out there to show what they’ve got,” she said.
