Car given by father is senior’s first

A white Pontiac Grand Am is what transports senior Madyson Oakes to school every day. The car was given to her by her father her sophomore year on the condition that she has to keep her grades up, while she pays for everything, like gas and oil changes, herself.

According to Oakes, the car is a very good first car, even though she wishes it had a better sound system and that it was a bit more winter friendly.

“It doesn’t have four-wheel-drive and so it kind of sucks in the winter, so I definitely will be getting snow tires this winter,” she said.

Being a high school student, the car is also very convenient as it is nice, safe, and affordable.

“It’s a very good first car. It’s very affordable and runs nice. I haven’t had any problems with my car, so it’s been good to me,” Oakes said.
