Mark Yaeger

The unique kids of CMR are what make drafting teacher and industrial arts department head Mark Yaeger look forward to going to work every day. Inspired by a friend’s father in high school, Yaeger decided to become a teacher.
“It seemed like a cool job, and I thought it would be cool to do the same thing,” he said. “I guess it was a mentor kind of thing.”
Outside the teaching job, Yaeger enjoys spending time with his family and golfing, a hobby he has pursued for decades.
“I’ve been golfing since elementary school,” he said.
Yaeger said that he used to enjoy taking his son to go fishing in Minnesota, where he originally is from.
“Before my mom died a couple of years back, we used to go up there around Mother’s Day weekend, go fishing and have a nice dinner with my mom,” Yaeger said.
In 1990, Yaeger defended his thesis, earned his master’s degree and became a father – all in one week.
“That was a busy week,” he said.
