What is trio?
Trio is a group of programs designed to help underrepresented students have access to college and after high school education opportunities
How long has it been around?
Trio programs started in 1965 with the first three, talent search, upward bound, and student support services.
What kind of kids are involved?
We focus on first generation college students and students from low-income backgrounds, but our program is available to any student who wants help navigating their path after high school.
What does trio mean to you?
I was a first generation college student from a low-income family and I could have really used the services that I now get to provide a new generation of students. It means so much to help students have a path to follow after graduation and a plan to get there.

What is a trio to you?
It’s a chance to go visit colleges you wouldn’t get to go to in your own time, or with my own money
Why did you join trio?
College trips and to help with senior year scholarships and to get to what college I want to get, too.
What’s your favorite part of trio?
Having the opportunity to go on college trips, and to have a trusted adult that I can not only go to about problems involving college but personal problems as well.
Why should others join?
It’s a good opportunity to get free help and guidance with what you want to do in the future and how to get there.
