Kellen Hartman said he has been a Rustler since before he could talk. For the Hartman family, dedication to the green and gold is a way of life, and he said he was inspired by his parents.
“Both of them were teachers. Dad taught here, [and] mom was at Sacajawea,” Hartman said.
This new PE/Health teacher grew up passionate, being surrounded by teaching and coaching for all his life, Hartman had one idea for his future career. Hartman says that he loves teaching because you will never see the same thing twice, being a teacher is very eventful.
“Students are your source to happiness,” he said
His father, Scott Hartman, was a social studies teacher at CMR, and Hartman’s father brought him to the high school for Homecoming week as a child. Though his father is now retired, his mother is still teaching.
“I can always remember being like three, four, five, six, seven – my dad would bring me to classes, and I would just sit in his classroom.”
