The 2025 Promposal competition included several innovative and creative entries. However, there can only be one winner and our voters have spoken. Senior Ronald Rickett, along with his U-Haul truck, took the crown and title for this year’s best promposal.
From the beginning, Ricket knew he wanted to do something big for his date, Ellena Weidow, to ask her to the dance. However, he needed a creative idea that would stand out from the rest, and that’s when the inspiration struck him.
“I was thinking of a promposal and I just drove by the U-haul place,” he said.
Despite the normal rules against renting U-haul trucks for such occasions, Rickett tried his luck and succeeded. He secured his truck for a mere 20 dollars from a worker at the rental place. Although he promised to return the truck, he kept the memories he made. On the night of the dance, Rickett and Weidow spent their evening driving their new eye-catching vehicle around town and eventually to their final destination: The Great Falls Civic Center.
“It was all pretty funny,” said Rickett.
Having been his first attempt at a grand promposal, he was still confident he would win this year’s competition. Evidently his prediction was correct. His sense of humor, creativity, and effort paid off in the end, not only scoring him the grand prize of Promposal 2025 victor but also an unforgettable night for both him and his date.
