Wide smiles, melodies of laughter, and hearts full of treasured memory isn’t only found in the eyes of your loved ones, but also in the old buildings that they once made a home. The buildings of Paris Gibson stand strong; filled with imprints of footsteps once walked, smudges where fingertips once lay, and wears and tears from the past. They all leave traces of magic. Architectural charm is a form of art that is irreplaceable. Its authenticity is handmade by first the hands that sculpted it and then the people who brought it to life. Modern houses creep through the cracks, invading the City of Great Falls with irrevocable plainness and flavors of bland. No matter how great of a threat these newer models present, the character and personality of the homes that have been standing for years deserve to be explored, embraced, and preserved.

Malena Gangi is a senior at Charles M. russel High School and the Editor-in-Chief of The Rustler News. She’s been a part of the journalism department for all four years of high school, and has led the student paper for two. She is also an athlete of the Cross Country and Track team. Outside of school, Gangi is a journalism intern with the Great Falls Chamber of Commerce, plays electric guitar, and volunteers at the Maclean Animal Shelter. If you were to find Gangi anywhere, it would be in her car driving with the windows down, rock music blasting, and a caffeinated beverage in hand. She hopes to continue her work in journalism as she enters college next year, and hopes to give as much as she can to the CMR journalism department before she leaves.
