As a first year teacher, Ciera Finberg’s preparations began long ago.

“Everything could not have been better. Every single person has been so helpful and so warm and welcoming,” Freshman English teacher Ciera Finberg said when talking about her first impressions of CMR.

“My mom was an English teacher, and I’ve always looked up to her,”Finberg said. “The job has always seemed like a natural fit. It’s just always what I’ve known I wanted to do.”

This year, Finberg looks forward to not only teaching her students, but also learning with them.

“My biggest goal is for all of us to learn together and enjoy the process and push ourselves and grow every day,” she said.

She is focusing this year on communication, working well with peers, and building positive relationships with reading.

“I know that every student is not going to love books, but I want them to understand that there is something out there for them that they might enjoy,” Finberg said.

In the short time that she has been at CMR, Finberg has had positive experiences while interacting with her fellow teachers, and new students.

“Everything could not have been better. Every single person has been so helpful and so warm and welcoming,”she said.

So far, the English teacher is enjoying the freshmen she has the opportunity to teach.

“I have a really fun group. A lot of dynamic and interesting personalities so it’s been fun to get to know them.”
