Toni Jo Atchison has been a part of the CMR team for two years – previously working in the front office and transitioning to the library staff for the 2024-2025 school year.
Missing the flurry of work and always having her children and grandchildren running around to different sports and activities, she said she needed something new to do.
“I got tired of sitting at home and not doing what was on my to-do list,” Atchison said.
She was born and raised in Havre and attended college in Rhode Island, where she lived for 11 years. She retired in 2020 from working in the medical field as a clerical secretary, secretary to chief of finance, ward secretary, and medical center director secretary.
She was so used to the hustle and bustle of life with her children and grandchildren that retirement didn’t seem right for her, Atchison said. On the lookout for a new job and something to do, she found an opening for the front office at CMR in 2023.
“I think it’s given me a lot of energy,” she said. ”You gotta have energy to work in an environment like this.”
Atchison said she really enjoys the CMR atmosphere and always has ways to spend her time.
“It’s given me a new breath of life.”
