On Feb. 7, I was laying at home and recently Marvel has peaked my interest as it usually does year-round, so I sat down comfortably on my couch and searched over my streaming services for a fun movie to watch, my eyes landed upon “Doctor Strange,” a movie I haven’t seen in a while.
Being the adventurous soul I am, I turned the movie on and immersed myself into the film. The main cast for this mystical movie follows with Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Benedict Wong as Wong, and Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer. “Doctor Strange” follows neurosurgeon Stephen Strange, an arrogant, intelligent and condescending man. In a tragic car accident, Strange loses full control of his hands in the accident, which leads him to pursue of a rumored group of people who can help him in Nepal.
These individuals reveal themselves as sorcerers and help Strange restore the functions to his hands through vigorous mystic training. Strange develops into an above average wizard early in his training, rising up in the ranks and when a universal threat poises to attack Earth, Strange must push himself forward and become the sorcerer supreme. I think this movie is a definitive 9/10 movie. Most superhero movies that fall under categories with magic typically flops or does not perform well in the box office, but Doctor Strange smashed through those expectations and had found itself in Magical success.
“Doctor Strange” runs for 1 hour and 55 minutes, with a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 89%. “Doctor Strange” receives the sequel “Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness.”
