Robin Watts, a nurse at C. M. Russell High School who enjoys helping students and even staff. Watts has been working as a nurse at C.M.R. for 4 years and has been in the nursing program for 10 years. On average Watts gets around 40-50 students coming in a day, and on occasion she will help a staff member by checking their blood pressure, heart rate, or even a small check up on their health diagnostics. Watts enjoys working as a nurse for high school for a plethora of reasons, such as time off during the summer, weekends, and winter or spring break. She likes the schedule for it is not taking a lot of time out of her day, whereas in a hospital they will be working long shifts that can last up to twelve hours. She also enjoys working with older kids who are likely more mature than younger kids in grade school. Nurses in our schools are very important in helping everyone in the school who needs it. Having someone there to help has made a huge difference on the school systems and students’ health when coming to school.
