VGX 2013: Grand Theft Auto V Wins Game of the Year
With 2013 wrapping up, it is time to go through the best things the year had to offer. This includes what video game titles were the voted the best for XBOX, Play Station, Nintendo, and PC. This year it was held on Dec 7 with the new title “VGX” for its 10th anniversary. In previous years, the awards were called the “VGAs” and televised on Spike, but this year they could be watched on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Twitch, iOS, and Android devices, as well as on GameTrailers.com and the websites of Spike, Comedy Central, MTV, MTV2, and BET.
The game of the year was unsurprisingly won by Rockstar’s, “Grand Theft Auto V”, which was nominated for nine categories, while the winner of the best shooter, “Bioshock Infinite” racked up 8 nominations. The full list of winners can be found below.
Along with awarding the winners of the past year, there is an in depth look at what games are to come in the future on the next generation consoles. There were a lot more one-on-one interviews with producers, and extended demos of games coming out in 2014. Nintendo announced that their new release “Donky Kong Country Tropical Freeze” will come out in February with a new character in the series.
