CMR journalists attend camp in Bellingham, Wash.

Seven journalists from the Stampede and Russellog staffs spent five days learning about newspaper and yearbook at the Washington Journalism Education Association’s summer camp July 29-August 3 at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Wash.

Adviser Beth Britton and the young journalists flew to Washington and had time to explore areas along the coast after the classes ended. News Editor Abby Lynes, photographer Tom Gruner, Entertainment Editor Greighsen Adams, yearbook Editor in Chief  Tana Marble, newspaper Editor in Chief Peyton Fulbright, Design Editor Kendra Hix and Web manager Zach Pottratz attended the camp.

Each summer students attend a camp in order to improve their skills in the areas of writing, photography, design and leadership. Students traveled to the University of Iowa in 2012 and the University of Texas in 2011.
