CMR Gym Students learn how to “Step In Time”
December 5, 2016
After attending a workshop for Montana teachers, Lindsey Gustafson decided to make her Sophomores dig a little deeper into line dancing. Instead of just teaching dances, the kids now have to create their own.
Despite the stigma that sometimes surrounds the dance unit, all of the students seemed to be genuinely excited to participate. The groups got to pick out their own songs and had to work together to make sure everyone’s ideas were incorporated.
Amanda Ferderer, a fellow gym teacher to Gustafson, said that she likes how much people were having fun with the unit. It was a new idea used this year and so far, it seems to be paying off. Create-your-own-line-dance might be here to stay.
