This event has been huge in the U.S. with 1.5 million people who bought tickets for the tour and Taylor Swift potentially making $500 million to $1.5 billion dollars off of it. The concerts will/have been held in the following states: Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Missouri, Colorado, Washington, and California.

Social media has exploded with Taylor Swift preparations. Outfit ideas for concerts, funny posts about school absence for a concert, and videos of different concert events are found among the Swiftie fandom. One parent from Texas wrote a letter to her daughter’s first grade teacher with Taylor Swift allusions throughout.

“Dear Reader [Ms. Parks], I hope missing school doesn’t ruin her otherwise stellar Reputation, but she begged me to go and maybe I Should Have Said No but I didn’t want to be Mean. So It Goes…”

The letter went viral, and the teacher responded, saying, “This made my day!” There are many posts about Easter eggs found throughout her concerts, including traveling to the stage under a janitor’s cart and her surprise songs at each concert. Videos of Taylor telling off security for holding back fans in her performance of Bad Blood and of her accidentally forgetting the words to Gorgeous have been passed around, making Taylor Swift a prominent topic in today’s society.
