Second Annual Dodgeball Tournament Ready To Begin

For the past two years dodgeball has become more than just a game played during PE. Dodgeball has become a sport, a tournament, and a great way for students to have a ton of fun.

This is the second year C.M Russell High School has held a dodgeball.

“The turnout this year isn’t as good as last year, which is disappointing,” said junior Karlee Simonson, who is the tournament’s coordinator and referee.

“There’s only five teams this year,” Simonson said.

The games are first played in the style known as pool play, which determines where teams are placed on the bracket. Each team plays 4 games in pool play.

Next is the elimination round, where each team plays at least one game, and the winners move up the bracket.

“Everyone gets to play five games, which is fun,” Simonson said.

The proceeds of the tournament aren’t going to waste. “It’s going to be super fun and will help fund prom next year,” Simonson said. “And just so everyone knows, the winner gets a SPECIAL prize.”
