Multi-talented Carlson balances two sports during the fall season

Crazy or just crazy good? Trisha Carlson, a junior at CMR, has spent most of her fall sports season juggling two sports. Carlson currently competes in volleyball and cross country and will also run track in the spring; she excels in all three.

Recently, Carlson won the city cross country meet at Anaconda Hills before dashing off to a crosstown volleyball matchup.

“It’s definitely a time management thing, like you have to learn to balance it and do one in the morning and one in the afternoon,” Carlson said. “It’s fun and difficult at the same time.”

Despite her success, Carlson said finding time to do homework can be a problem.

Carlson is an outside hitter on the varsity volleyball team. She has played varsity all three years of high school. This is her first year running cross country, but she has quickly risen to the No. 1 slot on the varsity team.

“My favorite part about cross country is probably that family,” Carlson said. “Everyone’s so nice and supportive and it’s such a sweet group.”
