As the moment of the rival clash arrived, senior Joey Marzion was prepared to help the Rustlers claim victory over the Bison.
Marzion said that in order to get ready for a game such as cross-town, he treats it like every other game.
“Focus on what you gotta do, and get it done,” Marzion said.
On Jan. 8, the CMR Rustlers faced off against the GFHS Bison at the cross-town basketball game, hosted by CMR. The Rustlers defeated the Bison 50-38.
The team, Marzion said, is improving with every game and practice.
“But we’ve still got a lot to go,” Marzion said.
Marzion said that playing against the rival school is exciting and fun.
“It’s one of the best games of the year.”
The Rustlers are now 7-1 overall.
