Being one of the oldest girls on the golf team, sophomore Harly Rowe said she is devastated that she can’t lead her team to State. Instead, she is dealing with a Frank fracture; this is where Meta tarsals move into one another. It is a reoccurring injury from basketball season last fall.
“If I have to get surgery, then I will more than likely be out for the whole basketball season,” Rowe said.
She is optimistic about the boys team.
“[They have] a very good chance of winning not only because they are playing on their home course but because they have all the talent and mental stability to be winners,” she said.
However, the focus of the girls team this year is to mostly build up the team since it consists of three sophomores and the rest freshmen, she said.
“I go through a routine of balance, arm, head, and imagine where I want the ball to go,” Rowe said. “When I have a bad shot, I think of something funny and laugh it off.”
Although Rowe can’t finish up the season, she said she will be there to help out her team and cheer them on. The state tournament is September 28-29 in Great Falls.
