Broncos versus Raiders. Mere seconds left in the game. A 4-year-old boy glued to the passes and fumbles on the television with his uncle. That’s how sophomore Kameron Mims was introduced to the game of football.
“I grew up playing football,” Mims said. Over the years, he has acquired a great passion for the game.
“I just love the game,” he said. Staying healthy and not getting hurt are some of his biggest struggles. Having a two-week set-back while tearing a ligament in his ankle a couple weeks ago means Mims has to work hard to recover.
While his injury is difficult, Mims says he has a desire to win.
“I really want to go to MSU or Boise State for football,” he said.
Mims has to juggle track, football, and basketball. Even though it’s hard playing all three sports helps improve his skills.
“You kind of have to do a little bit of all of it throughout the year.”
