It may have been the inspiration of her older sister, the drive of competiveness that runs in her family, but when sophomore varsity soccer player Payton Netz first started playing soccer, she was mostly concerned about the color of her soccer cleats.
“When you were little you had to have everything pink,”Netz said.
Netz has been playing soccer for over 10 years and shows no signs of stopping.
Even though frustrations arise and conflicts between players ensue, Netz is in it for the love of the sport.
“I’ve never wanted to quit,” Netz said. “When I’m playing soccer I can forget about the stuff that’s stressing me out.”
Although pursuing the sport was never in question, it was made a lot easier for her to play simply based off of who she was playing with.
“We’ve all played together for so long,” Netz said. “It’s just perfect.”
