Since age four, freshman Kaitlin Mosely has been in love. Not with a boy, a famous celebrity, or a car, but with a sport.
Soccer, to be exact.
“It’s always been something I love to do,” she said.
On the CMR soccer team Mosely plays defender.
According to Mosely the goal of the defender is to “try to stop people from scoring, and help the goalie.”
Playing team sports is something Mosely has always enjoyed.
“I love the feeling when you do something good and everybody’s happy for you,” she said. “You feel like you’re more part of the team.”
Transitioning from playing at the middle school to high school level has been difficult for Mosely.
“It’s more competitive. You have to work a lot harder—you play against better teams,” she said.
Her hopes for the future are to at some point make varsity during her high school career.
Though her position as a defender does not regularly score goals, she describes the first time she scored a goal as feeling “pretty good.”
