EDITORIAL: Latest Swift tour a thing for the record books

Every Swiftie’s wishes came true this year. A TSwift concert with all of her best songs through the years? Definitely yes.

Welcome to the Eras tour. A Taylor Swift concert tour across the U.S. with 44 songs from all 10 of her albums. This event has been huge in the U.S. with 1.5 million people who bought tickets for the tour and Taylor Swift potentially making $500 million to $1.5 billion dollars off of it. The concerts will/have been held in the following states: Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Missouri, Colorado, Washington, and California.

52 shows over a span of about six months.

Social media has exploded with Taylor Swift preparations. Outfit ideas for concerts, funny posts about school absence for a concert, and videos of different concert events are found among the Swiftie fandom. One parent from Texas wrote a letter to her daughter’s first grade teacher with Taylor Swift allusions throughout.

“Dear Reader [Ms. Parks], I hope missing school doesn’t ruin her otherwise stellar Reputation, but she begged me to go and maybe I Should Have Said No but I didn’t want to be Mean. So It Goes…”

“Anyway, I hope this doesn’t leave any Bad Blood between you and Maddie and that things for the rest of the year are not Treacherous,” she continued. “I know I Did Something Bad and I promise this will be The Last Time she has an unexcused absence before the Cruel Summer starts. Forever & Always, Karen Vladeck.”

The letter went viral, and the teacher responded, saying, “This made my day!” There are many posts about Easter eggs found throughout her concerts, including traveling to the stage under a janitor’s cart and her surprise songs at each concert. Videos of Taylor telling off security for holding back fans in her performance of Bad Blood and of her accidentally forgetting the words to Gorgeous have been passed around, making Taylor Swift a prominent topic in today’s society.

Taylor Swift is one of America’s top artists, known for her charisma, creativity, and, of course, her music.
